There were lots of smiling faces when the Step In Line Dancers, many who are also Get In Step Line Dancers, entertained at Cameron Hall on Thursday, December 10, 2015. In addition to line dancing, the Dancers led the residents in seated line dancing, which brought many smiles and much participation.

LINE DANCERS CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS

On Monday, December 7, 2015, the Get In Step Line Dancers celebrated the upcoming Christmas Holiday by entertaining at both the Fannin County Senior Center and PruittHealth Care. They also enjoyed a Christmas Luncheon.

Many thanks to these wonderful line dancers who consistently give of their time and talent to bring happiness to so many in our community and beyond.

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN AT COMMUNITY OPEN TABLE THANKSGIVING DINNER

The Get In Step Line Dancers were pleased to be a part of the entertainment at the sixth annual Community Thanksgiving Open Table sponsored by the Good Samaritans of Fannin County. In addition to line dancing, the line dancers led the audience in several seated line dances to the delight of those present. The Good Samaritans of Fannin County is an interdenominational association of area churches which raises benevolent funds for Fannin County neighbors in need. In addition to the delicious Thanksgiving Dinner of Smoked Turkey with all the fixings, there was family style entertainment and children's seasonal craft activities.

LINE DANCERS FOR HOPE IN HONOR OF SUE YOUNG RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM

Fannin County Relay for Life 2015 was held on May 15th at the Kiwannis Club Fairgrounds in Blue Ridge. The Line Dancers for Hope in Honor of Sue Young Relay for Life Team raised over $6000, achieved Gold Team status and received the "Rookie of the Year" award. In addition, the Get In Step Line Dancers were a part of the evening's entertainment. Several of the line dancers joined the McCaysville United Methodist Church's Faith Choir in presenting a patriotic musical, "Heal Our Land."

The Line Dancers for Hope would like to thank our family and friends for their generous support in our first year of participation in Relay for Life. We pray the funds raised will quicken the day a cure for cancer is found.

LINE DANCERS FOR HOPE RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM IN HONOR OF SUE YOUNG

Line Dancers had a lot of fun participating in the Line Dancers for Hope Relay for Life Team in Honor of Sue Young fund raiser held at Bill's Roller Rink in Blairsville. This fund raiser is on-going on Friday evenings from 7:30 - 10:00 p.m. during February. For every line dancer who comes to Bill's Roller Rink on Friday nights during February and tells Billie Sue they are a line dancer, she will donate $2 of the $8 admission per line dancer to our Relay for Life Team!!

Many of us have known friends or family members who have had cancer, but this past year it has been brought even closer to home for my line dancing group, Get In Step Line Dancers, because one of our own is again dealing with this terrible disease.

For this reason, we formed a relay for life fundraising team in honor of Sue Young, called Line Dancers for Hope. I'd like to introduce you to my dear friend and fellow line dancer, Sue Young. Sue has successfully battled cancer three times and is now battling it again. She is an inspiration to me and to so many others!

Our wish is that our family and friends will join us to help find a cure for cancer by joining our team and helping us raise funds (click on the "Join My Team" button on my Relay for Life page) or by making a donation (click on the "Donate Now" button on my Relay for Life page or mail in the attached form), and by keeping our efforts in your thoughts and prayers so that no more people are robbed of another birthday, especially our dear friend.

Please help our line dancer team with a little or a lot to give hope.
